Shanna Donhauser, LICSW

Infant, Early Childhood, and Couples Psychotherapist, Founder of Happy Nest Therapy


Shanna Donhauser, LICSW is a clinically trained social worker and psychotherapist. She received her Masters in Social Work at New York University after being an undergraduate at the University of Washington. She also attended the University of Washington's post-graduate certificate program in Infant Mental Health and she is completing an MSc in Attachment Studies at the University of Roehampton. She is a psycho-dynamic and psychoanalytically trained therapist with a primary focus on attachment, trauma, and chronic stress. She is also an infant and early childhood mental health specialist (CMHS) and a minority mental health specialist for Latin(x) populations.

Before launching Happy Nest, Shanna worked in several mother/baby programs, developing her skill in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and receiving specialized training on early attachment and development. She is also a DONA trained doula.

Since then, Shanna has trained in other therapy models including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman's workshops, and the Dynamic Maturational Model of attachment (DMM).

Shanna previously volunteered on the Child Therapy Committee as part of the Northwest Alliance of Psychoanalytic Study. She also served on the board of directors for the Program of Early Parent Support (PEPS) in Seattle.
